November Newsletter

As we settle into November we want to highlight some things taking place at the studio and around our community. A HUGE THANK YOU for everything you are doing to help us keep our studio safe and clean. While we miss seeing many of your faces each day, we appreciate the minimal foot traffic in our space and it allows us to clean efficiently and effectively.
We also want to welcome new families to the studio – thank you for choosing to make music education and/or early childhood education part of your weekly routine.
Month at a Glance:
Nov 11th: Closed for the morning only. All regular classes and lessons beginning at 1pm
Nov 23-28th: Pajama Week! Wear your comfy clothes to the studio this week! We will also be collecting cash donations to bring joy to some local families – see below for more info
Nov 28th: Fall River Christmas Tree Lighting – VIRTUAL EVENT! See incredible info below
This month starts our Rock Bands for Teens! We have a homeschooling group meeting Thursdays @1pm and an Evening Group meeting @7pm. Mr Michal, Mr Alex, Miss Dana and other guests will be helping this group rock out. There are a few spots left for any students ages 11 and up who may want to join.
Pajama Week – during the week of Nov 23-28, students and staff are invited to wear pjs. We will also be collecting cash donations all week to help raise funds to give the gift of music classes or lessons to a family in need. Our great friends at Barracuda Heating & Fuels are going to MATCH our donations so let’s make it a great week!
Tree Lighting – don’t let the title of Virtual fool you for this event – it is going to be amazing! The FRABA Tree Lighting Committee and our team at Joyful Sounds are gearing up for this to be an event NOT to be missed. Get cozy in your home, and tune into The Laker News FB feed for this Live event. Santa & Mrs Claus will be in attendance taking questions online. There is going to be a draw for an iPad (ballots will be filled out online), we have a very SPECIAL GUEST to count down the lighting of the tree, as well as a special MUSICAL GUEST…so much excitement! More details to follow, but mark your calendars for Sat Nov 28th @ 6pm.
Kindermusik Families – many have asked if we can place an order for Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, etc. We are happy to make that happen! We will send a separate email with the info you need and timeline. Stay tuned!
Also for our Kindermusik & Bilingual Birdies families, don’t forget the mini-recorded sessions that you can use at home at any time – whether you miss or want an extra bit of fun in your week. We will send the link out in a separate email with the password.
Christmas Recitals – are going to look very different this year, but we are working on what we believe will be a very special plan and result in a little momento for you and your family. Hopefully you will begin to hear Christmas music in practice sessions at home.
Speaking of practice…we will be sending a separate note on this topic, but please do your best to make practicing part of the daily routine – like reading homework. There may be some resistance at first, but turning it into part of their day will result in HUGE gains during the lesson time, and their confidence and ability. Start with a goal of 10 minutes per day, and work up to 20 over the period of 2 months. You will be amazed at what can happen. But more on this later.
For now, stay safe, make music, be kind to one another and thank you for supporting your local businesses.
